Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information PTLE Reviewer (“we”) collects when you use the app, why we need it, and what you can do about it. We follow the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules.
What we collect
- Your account: your name and email address, and your password, which we store only in a scrambled (hashed) form that we cannot read. If you add them, also your school, display name and profile photo.
- Your study data: your answers, scores and time spent, your board exam date, your answers to the welcome questions (such as how long you can study each day), your study plans, review cards, notes and tags, and anything you write in Ask Coach, discussions or messages.
- Payment records: the payment reference number, amount, method, status and date, and the name and mobile number you paid from if you enter them on the pay page. Card and e-wallet details are handled by the payment provider. We never see or store them.
- Technical data: a cookie that keeps you signed in, and small settings saved in your browser, such as your light or dark theme. We also keep basic error reports and request timings, which record the page but not your answers, and a scrambled form of your IP address that we use to stop repeated sign-in attempts.
Why we use it
- To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
- To show your results, weak topics, review deck and study plan.
- To answer your Ask Coach questions.
- To check your payments and give you access.
- To send you account emails, such as email verification, password resets, payment results and the reminders you choose.
- To protect the app and its content, for example from account sharing and copying.
- To fix problems and improve the app and its questions.
We use your information to provide the service you signed up for, to meet our legal duties, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the app safe and working well. Where we ask for your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Our team can see your study data, Ask Coach conversations and payment records, to support you, check payments and fix problems.
- Other students can see what you choose to share in the app, such as your display name, photo and posts in discussions, and your name on leaderboards.
- Service providers that run parts of the app for us, and may use your information only for that:
- Supabase, which hosts our database;
- Vercel, which hosts the app;
- Google (Gmail), which sends our emails;
- the payment provider that handles your payment;
- Anthropic and Google (Gemini), which write Ask Coach replies.
When you use Ask Coach, we send the AI provider your question and the conversation so far. If you ask about a practice question, we also send that question, its answer and explanation, and the answer you chose. We include your name and school so Coach can address you. We do not send your email address, password or payment details.
Some of these providers process data outside the Philippines, for example in Singapore or the United States. We use providers that protect the data and only let them use it to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study data while your account exists, including after a free week or pass ends, so your results are there when you come back. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information, except records the law requires us to keep, such as payment records for tax and accounting, which we keep only as long as required.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you can:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- ask us to delete your information or close your account;
- object to how we use your information, or withdraw a consent you gave.
To use any of these rights: Email us at josephjoshuangushual@gmail.com. We may ask you to confirm it is you before we act. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
Security
Passwords are stored hashed, and the app is only served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only the app’s servers and our team can reach the database. Resetting your password signs you out everywhere. No system is perfectly safe; if a breach puts your information at risk, we will tell you and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.
Cookies
We use a cookie only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
